Chris Dunn
Chris is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist and is currently Chief
Meteorologist for KPHO-TV/CBS 5
in Phoenix, AZ.
He has been fishing the waters off Southern California since the early 1980s
when he could be found plucking barracuda, sand bass and bonito from
local piers and 1/2 day boats. Anyone remember the Queen of the Sea…or GW
out of the Seal Beach & Belmont piers? (see below)
His love of the water eventually led him
to his first job as a deckhand aboard the Pescador (formerly Red Rooster
II) in the summer of 1984 working 1/2 day trips out of Queen’s Wharf
Sportfishing in Long Beach, CA.
He ventured down to the San Diego fleet in
1985, working for the legendary Joe Dunn
on the Tradition (now the Horizon) with captain Robert Cooperstein and
the Spirit of Adventure with captain Mike Keating during
its inaugural season as a long range sportfisher.
After short stints aboard the Red
Rooster III and Fish-n-Fool, Chris was able to find a way to set
aside his college schedule and budding career in broadcasting to return for
one final summer on the Spirit in 1990.
Chris is also active in the voice
over industry with his Pacifica Voiceworks.
He can be heard as the announcer of the
highly popular “Stand Up Fishing with Bill Roecker” series of
videos...available at www.fishingvideos.com.
His web presence extends to the field of aviation, where Chris is known
at The Flying Weatherman. Visit our companion website at:
